PHOTONICS

Nano Indoor & Outdoor Lighting, Display & Solar Quantum Technologies

OPTICS

Nano Meta-surface Photon Reflection & Absorption Technologies

Advanced Quantum Dot Technology using Nano Architecture & Synthesis

QDots are comprised of nanometer-sized semiconductor particles that are 10,000 times smaller in diameter than a human hair, which are man-made nanoscale crystals capable of transporting charge carriers in optoelectronic devices.

UV light sources can be employed to illuminate thin luminescent QDot films to provide powerful light emissions in various tunable color options. These highly efficient QDots can also be used in electrically driven QLED devices for solid-state lighting systems and displays. Additionally, Genoptic’s non-luminescent QDots are designed to absorb the photons from the sunlight and convert them into electricity in solar cells.

Fine-Tuning the Emission Color of QDots

Size-dependent Color Tuning in QDot Nanocrystals

Splitting of energy levels in QDots due to the “quantum confinement effect”.

Semiconductor bandgap increases with decrease in size of the nanocrystal.

Organic ligands are attached to the surface of core/shell QDots to prevent aggregation in solutions and improve the solubility in common solvents.
